Typography

The original serif font in the logo (Paihia Beach Resort & Spa) aligns well with a serif heading. To modernise the website’s look and feel while maintaining the essence of a luxury beach resort, balancing a serif font for the brand and sans-serif font for the rest of the site can create harmony.

Playfair Display

Playfair Display is a transitional serif font that combines classic elegance with modern readability. In 2011, Danish type designer Claus Eggers Sørensen designed this font. Playfair Display is a classical typeface with a modern feeling that will give designs the elegance they need.

Body Text

Lato: Clean, elegant, and versatile. Lato is a humanist sans-serif typeface designed by Łukasz Dziedzic. It was released in 2010.

Color Palette

We opt for a sandy, earthy tone for the main background. It is easier on the eye while creating more warmth on the brand. It's essential to select text colours that contrast well for readability and maintain the luxurious beach resort vibe.

Target contrast ratio: 4.5:1 for body text.

For Titles/Headings

Use a deep, rich colour for contrast against the creamy background.

Dark Navy: rgb(34, 34, 59) or #22223b
Charcoal: rgb(51, 51, 51) or #333333
Warm Espresso: rgb(78, 52, 46) or #4e342e

Body Text

Slightly softer than the heading colour, maintaining legibility but appearing less bold.

Warm Grey: rgb(96, 96, 96) or #606060
Taupe: rgb(110, 87, 74) or #6e574a
Muted Brown: rgb(85, 72, 66) or #554842
